The legendary BMW M3 e30 Warsteiner (+Crash) at the 41th AvD Oldtimer GP

The legendary BMW M3 e30 Warsteiner DTM became a legend during the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meistershaft in the golden years. During the 41th AvD Oldtimer GP they bring back these legendary machines.

Trackandtuner.com records the best known M3 e30 Warsteiner DTM driven by Steve Soper. This one is build in 1992 with the latest DTM specifications. This means is has around 360hp out of a 2,5L 4-cylindre engine.

But this car is not about high horsepower, it’s all about handling. It qualified on the Nurburgring in the same class as the M1 procars (470hp) and the M1 Turbo (800hp).

During the first race it was fighting for the win with the fastest M1 procar and M1 turbo with more than twice the power. This car flies through corners and the airbox sound is addictive.

Unfortunately it was knocked out of the second race during the rolling start. It was hit from behind by a M1 procar as seen on our onboard video. As you can see the M1 procar hits the M3 e30 Warsteiner in the back making it spin around and creating chaos in the first corner. Miraculously no-one hits the M3 e30 in a cloud of dust.

This did end the race of the M3 e30 DTM after a few laps it looked like the engine blew.
