Acceleration14: Supersport and Sport division

TrackandTuner visited Acceleration14 for a complete festival full of racing and Music at the Nurburgring. In our earlier reports you have seen the free practice sessions and the first race of the SuperGT, GT and GTB division of the Dutch Supercar Challenge. As you might have seen the Dutch Supercar Challenge also has the Sport and Supersport division full of exiting cars like Seat Supercopa’s, Lotuses, Renault Clio RS versions and lots of BMW’s. The BMW’s are almost all fitted with a carbon airbox system which provides more airflow and a spectacular sound.

The Lotus Evora from Cor Euser was the favorite after the victory at the Zandvoort Paasraces, followed by another Lotus two-eleven these cars had the best times during practice. Next up were the BMW M3 e46 GTR and BMW e90 WTCC.

The race started well for both the Lotus drivers, which stayed right behind each other. Unfortunately the fire spitting Lotus two-eleven had to retire after a technical malfunction. It seemed like an easy race for the Lotus Evora, but after the drivers change and the extra penalty seconds for the Lotus the BMW drivers came very close. The BMW M3 e46 GTR was only 1.2 seconds behind in the end finishing second in a very well driven race in the Supersport division. Third was the BMW e90 WTCC, with fourth place for the BMW M3 e92 3.2 and the Seat Leon Supercopa in fifth place.

In the Supersport division the BMW compact of Braspenning Racing took victory in front of the Lotus Exige.
