TrackandTuner tries to visit as much track events as possible at the Nordschleife. Since it’s not only our favorite track to visit but the atmosphere and beauty of the Eifel are worth a trip alone.
But there is always something going on at the Nordschleife as we discovered as we by coincidence came across the Porsche Driving Days.
Coming closer and closer to the Nordschleife it was quite clear that it was flooded with Porsches.
We saw dozens of 911 GT3 RS versions and even five GT2 RS versions. Not to mention all the other variations like the Boxer Spyder and the Carrera GTS.
We went to the main gate to check it out and it was rented out by Porsche. The entire parking lot was closed and a relax area was created for the Porsche driving days.
As we all know driving around all day on the Nordschleife will make sure that you need to fuel up a lot.
When we were driving by our favorite gas station as we saw a big group of Porsches filling up their pride and joy.
We went to check it out and soon the entire gas station was flooded with Porsches. Every color combination of the GT3 RS was available and almost all had fitted an aftermarket exhaust to make the best sounding Porsche sound even better.
But also the new 911 Turbo and GT2 RS where present in all the right colors and they also make a different but very intriguing sound as you hear the turbo rev up.
We went to check out all these Porsche at different corners on the Nordschleife. Conditions weren’t easy with showers and a damp track its always tricky especially on the Nordschleife.
One thing that we did notice was the speed of the 911 turbo, it seems to do it so easily thanks to its all wheel drive system it really takes off.
The different Porsches were divided into groups based on their track experience. All had an instructor driving in front to set the pace.
This made it possible to capture big groups in one image. But also created some traffic jams on the Nordschleife when a faster group went to overtake a slower group as seen in the video.
