TrackandTuner.com visited the 2012 Fast car Festival.
The Fast car Festival is an event on Zandvoort circuit for real car enthusiasts, from a BMW M3, Ferrari F430 to a Nissan Skyline and big muscle cars. At the Fast car Festival there is space for all kinds of cars but it’s all about the passion for your car.
All these cars are selected on their quality, looks and above all performance.
The Fast car Festival focuses around and on the track. With driving sessions on the track everybody is allowed to go on track for 20 minutes and experience Zandvoort circuit.
But there is also a professional time attack event. This is where the true power monsters will go on track to set the fastest time of the day. More about this in part two.
Around the track there are special areas for clubs, companies and the Toyo Tires supercar paddock.
Here you can see the new products tuner companies have to offer, just like the MSL E92 Carbon airbox system from Mosselman or the Nissan GTR Switzer P800 performance package from TotalCarConcept.
This year the Fast car Festival was the starting point of the StreetGasm Challenge. A rally trough Europe for cars above 250hp. Mainly import cars like the Toyota Supra and the Nissan Skyline.
This year’s special was the BMW ///M paddock area combined with the Breyton BMW parade on the track. This resulted in some beautiful BMW ///M cars like the classic M3 e30 and the popular M3 e92 coupe. We also did a lap in a M3 e46 equipped with a Supersprint lightweight race exhaust.
In this part we take a look at the Toyo Tires Superlap competition.
The challenge is to set the quickest time on Zandvoort circuit (CPZ) of the day. Starting with a qualifying session and ending the day with the final session of the Superlap Supersport.
Let’s begin with the Sport division for cars capable between 2:00 and 2:10. This Division had some hp monsters like the Mitsubishi Evo 6 RS with 800hp and the Milltek Nissan GTR with 620 hp.
With cars like the Nissan Skyline Mine’s with 670hp by TotalCarConcept, a Mitsubishi Evo 8 with 650hp, the Supersport division is for cars faster than 1:59.
As seen in the video below, the Fast car Festival is a mix of motorsport on the track and the passion for cars which took place around the track.
Stay tuned for the great onboard video’s we have left of the Nissan Skyline R34 Mine, M3 e93, M3 e46 and a Ferrari 599 on www.youtube.com/tomedelic1.
