TrackandTuner.com went out on a cold but lovely autumn day to photoshoot two great cars. Both are highly modified BMW ///M cars. The BMW M3 e46 convertible with a carbon airbox and an orange and very loud BMW M5 e60.
The BMW M3 e46 convertible:
The BMW M3 e46 is one of the most loved BMW ///M cars out there, the old-skool steering feel and the legendary inline six make this a modern classic. With prices increasing over the last year we take a look at one of the best examples out there. This is a BMW M3 e46 convertible with a lot of performance upgrades. First question though: Why a convertible? Because of this amazing sounding carbon fiber airbox matched with a carbonfiberdynamics GTR hood this thing screams!
The carbon airbox is fitted by www.trackandtuner.com and was then mapped on the dyno at AutoBeekRacing where it produced 388HP and 419NM of torque. It also has a full Supersprint lightweight race exhaust making it sound just as good flying by.
It also has the original CSL diffuser, front spoiler, wheels and duck tail all available through trackandtuner.com.
The last update might be the most important and those are the massive 390mm Brembo brakes. These are the same calipers as a Lamborghini Gallardo and are a very close fit to the 19 inch wheels. All in all this is a great car well capable on the street and on the track, just listen to it screaming on the dyno.
The Orange BMW M5 e60:
The BMW M5 e60 is legendary because of its massive 5.0L V10 racing engine. BMW will probably never put a screaming V10 engine in a family saloon again. However it was a very understated car, but by installing a custom x-pipe and Eisenmann race exhaust this BMW sounds like a racing car. Being the owners fun car, the looks where highly modified. It now has a custom GTR hood, carbon fiber front lip, huge 21 inch Hamann racing wheels, carbon fiber wrapped rood and an orange wrap. Then it was derestricted making this BMW M5 capable of a speed of around 330 kp/h.
This car sounds as mean as it looks and is a true head turner not only from the outside but also inside. The full Merina leather package, alcantara roof and carbon fiber inserts make this a great car to sit in. This is the ultimate autobahn cruiser!
