TrackandTuner.com visited the Carfreitag 2019. This is the unofficial opening of the Nurburgring Nordschleife and maybe the busiest day of the whole year. As you could have seen on our report here.
However, on track it is not that bad. Yes it is busy and some madness cars go onto the Nordschleife. But the most crazy cars stay out in the surroundings of the Nordschleife.
We went on our bike to the mini-carousel for some action shot. Along the way we saw many hundreds of other people, camping, smoking, BBQ’en and having a full shisha lounge to watch action on track.
The full array of great cars was still driving on the Nordschleife. Cars like the BMW 1M by custom racetec, a Lamborghini Aventador S, BMW M3’s, Porsche GT3 RS and many more great cars.
Like every day, accidents are almost inevitable. One happened right in front of our eyes. The car crashing against the guardrail is a sound I don’t want to hear. Fortunately the driver and passenger where fine and the car wasn’t that badly damaged.
The marshals on the Nordschleife are fast and ready to get the track opened again as soon as possible. So after 30 minutes it was back to normal again.
