TrackandTuner.com visited one of our favorite track events on the Nurburgring, the AvD Oldtimer GP.
In case you have missed some of our previous reports, check them out here, or here.
We love the cars, the people and most of all the sounds and smells of real old skool classic racing cars. What is better than seeing the most Epic classic racing cars all at once.
The AvD Oldtimer GP officially begins on a Friday, with qualification on Friday and Saturday, with the races on Sunday.
We however already sneak in during the testing day on Thursday, when is is just all coming together, no audience, just racing.
We were immediately greeted by a wide Porsche 935 Turbo in the iconic Jagermeister livery.
Time to see what was unloading, and we saw some of our friends with the Mercedes AMG, the BMW M1 Procar and the Ferrari 458 GT3. Great to see our friends again, still racing with their great cars.
On Thursday, there are no categories, everyone is driving in the same session and testing their set-up.
This means that the Ferrari Racing Club Deutschland series, with their modern Ferrari 458, 488 GT2 and GT3 cars are racing between the BMW M1 Procar, the Kremer K3 and the Ford Sierra and Zakspeed editions.
It is not only fun to see, but the VBOX/Kaliber Ford RS500 was tailing these Ferrari's on the main straight. After some more investigation, the Ford had 560HP, more than enough power to keep up. Check out the video down below, to see this great Ford in action.
Testing done, first smells, sounds and cars done! Ready for Qualification!
