TrackandTuner.com visited the Classic GP. You have already seen the classic cars in the paddock, the teams, and the F1 cars.
In this article the first action shots from the Can-Am races, the F1 classics and the Tourenwagen classics.
Can-Am started out as a race series for group 7 sports racers with two races in Canada (Can) and four races in the United States of America (Am). The series was governed by rules called out under the FIA group 7 category with unrestricted engine capacity and few other technical restrictions.
Meaning very light space frame cars with massive V8 engines. All in a very fast car which is a hand full!
My favorite class will always be the Tourenwagen classics and the DTM Classics.
Cars like the BMW M3 e30 DTM, Ford Escort RS or even the later generation BMW e46 WTCC cars are the cars that I love and grown up with.
These classes are always a massive fight against lower powered cars with great handling like the BMW M3 e30 DTM or the BMW e46 WTCC against the more powerfull FWD Opel Ascona or turbocharged cars.
A lot of variety and a lot of different techniques how to drive and be fast around the Nurburgring. Check out the BMW e36 STW video down below how this small 4-cylinder engine can keep up with cars with 100HP or more extra.
